I have a remington 700 30.06 with a 22inch barrel. I have used imr and h 4350 with both remington and winchester shells. Iam using nosler 150g bt and silver tips. I cannot get a tight pattern with any combination as of yet. I have used differnt lengths up to 3.350. Let me hear your best loads please. Give me as much info as you can. I do prefer ballistic tips but will take anything rt now, that will tighten up my shot pattern. Thanks for the info.

trays7940,

I haven't loaded for 30-06 in about 5-6 years but I always had great accuracy with the Nosler 150 gr PT, 59.0 grs IMR4350 and Federal GM210M primers.
If I were to start loading for this cartridge again, I would start with RL19.
I have had very good luck with all the Alliant powders in several calibers.

You might also try the 150 gr AB. If no better accuracy, give the 165 gr bullet weights a try. For the 165 gr, try IMR4350, IMR4831 and RL22.

What are you shooting at? Have you considered 180 grainers? I didn't have much luck with 4350 when I was working up my 180 load. I am pushing the 180gr Accubonds out of my 22 inch Rem 700 barrel and making 3 shot groups sub moa with 57.0 of H4831. It is not a hot load by any means, but it is accurate at point blank out to 260 yards, and kills what it hits. It has become my only load in my go-to gun. Hope that is helpful for you.

58.5-58.8grs IMR-4350 and a 165gr bullet, WLR or Fed 210M. I have used that load in several 30/06s.Rick.

I had similar problems with a 22" 700BDL several years ago, and was ready to give it up. On a lark, I tried Vihtavuori N-160 and Voila!!! Groups shrunk down to sub MOA and velocities were great. Since Then I have used this powder in several '06's with similar results. Regards, Eagleye.

I've gone through 4350, 483l and RL22. Believe it or not IMR4064 worked perfect for the lighter weight bullets. Both my M700 and my Old Ruger lighhtweight loved that particular powder.

My custom 30-06 with a 20" barrel likes 54.5 gr Varget and Fed 210M primers pushing a 150 SST. Groups are .75" avg with best being .54" so far. Velocity is 2933 fps which I don't think is too bad for a 20" barrel. I will be trying some Nosler 150 BTs in it soon and I expect the same results.

I also had a shorter barreled 30-06 (20 inches) and didn't have great results with the typical suggestions of IMR or H-4350. I had better results with IMR-4895, IMR-4064 and Accurate 2700 with the 150 gr bullets. With the 165 and 180, my rifle preferred Reloder 22. Maybe you shoulc try one of the faster burning powders with your 150 gr bullets.

My best loads for 30-06 incorporate the 180grain Partition or 180 grain sierra gameking and either h4350 or imr 4350. My load consists of 55 grs of imr or 55.5 of the h and fed210m primers with the oal at 3.265" to 3.270" in my model 70 Classic, it will give groups of MOA and less depending on how well i am doing my job that day. I am getting about 2720-2770 fps at the muzzle in my 24" barrel.
