I don't have a Sierra manual and need some help.
I managed to pick up 200 of the .264, 130gr HPBT to try in my 6.5x284 Norma.
What's the powder range, using IMR 4350, I should be looking at? I'm thinking this might be a better bullet for coues deer as all I'm shooting right now is the Barnes bullets. Since I don't normally load their bullets I don't have one of their manuals.
My Hornady manual gives a range for the same weight bullet but I'm wanting to get a second, third, and more, opinions.
Thank you,

Vince

Vince, I would look at your Nosler manual for the 130 AB, and work up to your speed you feel comfortable with. The Sierra is a softer bullet, so you will be fine at/near the top end AB loads.

As usual Scotty is giving sound advice :)! I load all my different calibres & bullets to my newest Nosler loading manual.
I have found IMR4350 to be very good in the 284cal.
I would likely be using it in my 280AI if were not to the fact that I was able to stock up on RL22 and then given such accurate load advice.
Good luck Vince I am sure you will have it shooting very small groups in no time at all.

Blessings,
Dan

Sierra is also Very Good about answering phone calls or e-mails for suggestions.

Got a couple of my very best loads that way.

Thank you all.
I called Sierra this morning and they gave me a range for this powder that correlates to my Hornady manual. I'm starting low and working high.
In talking with the Tech at Sierra he gave me a suggested seating depth a lot shorter than I was originally going to use due to the shape and design of this bullet. He also thought I'd crack 3,000 fps. We will see what happens tomorrow.

I had to start a new thread because I couldn't get a picture to upload.
I'm pretty tickled.

Sierra seems to be willing to help out. Years ago they sent me some unpublished test data for IMR 7828 use with my 264 Mag.
