NEW 257 cal E-Tip

They might be nice in my 257Roberts or 25-06 but should really shine in my 257Weatherby. That is if they are like other non-lead bullets and work better(more expansion) the faster you push them.

I can get close to 3200 fps with ballistic tips in my Bob. That ought to be enough to make them e-tips peel back. I wish they weren't so dang 'spensive.

I could probably get 3400 fps from my Ruger #1. Cool!

maybe an 80 grain one day for yotes!! ok I wont get greedy can twait to try them out since I have 2 quarter bores in the safe now

Sorry Nosler. Cant go along with it. E-tip is just a way for you guys to make more money. Are you going to turn out an 85 or 90 grain version? 100 Gr is all my little 250 savage can handle.

hey nosler what is the ballistic coefficient ...plus or minus a few .01?

Same here!!

The 100TTSX BC was a real bummer, recorded as being lower than the TSX. If the E Tip BC is good & vel is good, this could be another all round choice, for Deer, Antelope & such anyway, a little steep for Varmits.

I e-mailed Nosler about this & the BC is not determined as yet.

I am pinging Nosler to get the BC on the 257 cal 100 gr E-Tip.

I will guess it at .........................................

.430

I think you guys are being way over opitimistic with the B.C. I'm guessing around 0.396.

The 6mm 90 gr. E-tip has a BC of .403, (higher than the 100 gr. Partition) so I suspect a .257 100 gr. E-tip would be just bit higher. I think both BUCK FEVER & POP have it pretty darn close. They gave .420 and .430 and I'm going with .415!

Any other takers on this one? Maybe Buck Fever and Pop we should make a pot to see who takes this one?

270 Caliber 130 gr. Ballistic tips= .433 BT
130 gr. E-tips- .459
E-tip advantage- .026

.257 100 gr. BT- .393 BC
plus rough E-tip adv.- .026
100 gr. E-tip- .419

That's my final answer :!:

I would guess the BC to be around .420.
