Well I have comleted my .280AI,and have 100 Nosler .280AI cases sitting in front of me!Any thoughts from any one on loads?I'm thinking Rl-22,and the bullets of choise will be 140 and 160gr Accubonds. What do you think? Monashee.

Monashee,

You are going to love the 280AI. RL22 is a great powder to use with either the 140 gr or 160 gr AB's.
Here is my 140 gr AB load:

Here is my 160 gr AB load:

Also have a good load for the 120 gr BT:

Monashee,

COL is 3.482" for the 140 gr, 160 gr AB's and 3.387" for the 120 gr BT.

That kind of accuracy just has to make a guy grin all over  Maybe I should go the AI way with the 7m-08?

Long,

I'm looking forward to getting this rifle back from the gunsmith. I am having the rifle bedded into a pillar bedded LSS stock.

If I can break .200", you will see a glow comming from your south east!

what can a guy buy for 49 cents?
I would gladly purchase a loaded 280 Ai cartrige, one 7mm bullet, a dime and your laod data for 49 cents.
nice shooting.

If you don't get the vel./accuracy you want w/ RL22, give IMR7828 a try. It has been THE powder for me in my .280 w/ 145gr-160gr bullets. My .280 just doesn't care for RL22.

According to my OAL gauge,my chamber will only allow 3.412",so I'm going to set the bullet back to 3.402" and start from there! Monashee (quite a difference in chamber length from yours!)

You know, this is a sin to share this info, for all of us who load and shoot this cartridge, well, we are the "chosen few" of riflemen!

Now, don't say anything about 7mm-08.

Regards,
