I'm a big fan of Nosler bullets. I load more of them than any other brand, and have had good success with them. However, my uncle gave me 2 boxes of Sierra 85gr GameKing BTHP. I've used the Sierra GK 100gr BTSP before, and had pretty good luck with them. I'd heard some folks mention that the 85's were a good, accurate bullet so I decided to work up a load for them. Last fall, I tried out IMR 4166, one of the new Enduron powders, in my .30-06 and was pleased with the results, so I thought I'd try it in the .243 as well.
Published load data from Hodgdon indicates a range from 35.9 to 39.5 gr for this powder, so I loaded 4 each at 36.0, 37.0, 38.0, 39.0, and 39.5. None of them shot bad, but there was a definite tightening of the group at 39.0. This one's a keeper.
