I ran into town to by some groceries for elk season. As I slowed down to make the turn I saw this dandy bull and his girls on my neighbors, about 200 yards from my front door.IMG_1761.JPG

Neighbors like that are a pleasure to have around. Looks like a great bull.

If he allows hunting you could be the Welcome Wagon . I am just kidding, it is great to have that kind wildlife so close.
Thank you for the post and photo.

Blessings,
Dan

He is a dandy bull, wrong unit, wrong side of the road. The guy who owns that ground has signs leaving little doubt how he feels about trespassing.

Who knows Don maybe he'll wander your direction to the right side of the road. (y)

Maybe I'll put an alfalfa bale out for him!

Now your talking  . He's a great bull, might want to use 2 bales.

Animals obviously don't understand property lines and can't read signs. Maybe the exploring nature in them will have them wondering what the grass and terrain is like on your side of the property. Nice bull to be right next door to you.

That is awesome! For the first time in my life, folks are sporadically seeing elk around here, and a few Elk Crossing signs are popping up..I've only seen one cow, but I really enjoyed it..I probably won't live long enough for there to be a huntable population of them, but maybe my grand kids will.

I sure hope they get to see and hunt them. I do know how lucky I am to have 50 years hunting them, it never gets old, the ground is getting steeper though. Having them in my neighborhood is a blessing.
