Looking to purchase two new rifles for this years hunts. I want to purchase a Weatherby accumark .257 weathereby magnum, for white-tail and possibly muley but also a 7mm remington magnum. I sold my 7 as a guy wanted it bad and offered me more money than it was worth so i thought what the heck. Now that i havent had my 7 for half a year I feel a void with in not having that caliber. I have been looking into a Winchester model 70 extreme weather ss and was wondering if anyone had any inputs on this model. Tell me what you think!

Man I want a new Winchester pretty bad too. I have handled an Extreme Weather in 7RM and what a nice hunting rifle. I would like to have another 7RM but would likely opt for a Sporter. Love the big 7. Scotty

I would be the last to put the kibosh on somebody buying guns, but there's a pretty fair overlap between a .257 and a 7 mag. I think I'd try to either go smaller on the small end or bigger on the big end... ie .240 Weatherby or a .300 Magnum of some sort.

Oh, and Scotty, I was awfully close to dropping the hammer on an EW in .300WSM this weekend... I might not be able to resist when I go back next weekend. I'll let you know how my addiction fares. :)

Then new winchesters are amazing. I used to be a remington man until I bought a sporter in 300 win mag and just picked up a stainless featherweight in 270 last week. The 300 win mag is showing a lot of promise with 165 accubonds. I can't wait to get the 270 shooting.

I wanted an extreme weather but I think I liked the stainless featherweight better. I am a sucker for walnut and stainless. If I want synthetic I think I will put the stainless featherweight in an edge.

My son's 300 WSM EW SS is sitting there with a clean bore, skim bedded, trigger adjusted, and Leupold dual dovetail mounts on it just waiting for some glass to sit in between the rings and be shot!  Now Kurt doesn't that just get the old blood flowing? You know you want one!!!  8)

Yes I do want one! Realistically, the last thing I need is another .300 Magnum, but what does need have to do with anything?

Forgot the .30-06, .300 Winchester, .300 Weatherby, and as of yesterday, a .300 WSM.

JD, I didn't add the .30WCF and .300 Savage. And I gotta get me a tacticool .308, too!

Yeah, maybe a touch of OCD!
