New Sendero 264 win mag

Pop,

Thats fantastic! Quality time with the kids on a speed goat hunt, you are living the dream.

I think the 264 WM is a found memory, you bought it, shot a great group and it will become Steph's NEW hunting rifle from this hunt forward.

Good luck on your hunt.

Once your son squeezes the trigger on a goat the first time and it is on the ground before he hears the bullet pop you will never be able to pry it out of his hands.

Pop
How ya gonna stick that penny on the speed goat so you know where to shoot? Very nice rifle. I've wanted a 264 since I was very young but never found a good one. Congrats Pop.

Same here Greg, it is only a matter of time though. I learned to load on a 264WM, and have always wanted one. I had to settle for a 7RM for my first rifle, but I will have the 264! Scotty

Now, Scotty, you didn't get hurt with the 7mm RM. The 264 is a great cartridge, but I would hate to be without my 7 RM. There is room in my safe for both.

True enough Mike. I like my 7RM's alot. I actually kind of fell off of it for awhile, since I had a bunch of other rifles. I may mess around with my Vanguard and put a Timney in it. The factory trigger stinks, and has kind of fouled me of shooting it. I tryed to adjust it as best I could, but it is creepy. My buddy has my M70 in Idaho and carries it while guiding hunters out there and for his own personal use, so I wanted another, just so the safe wasn't devoid of a 7mm.

I do want a 6.5 and the 264WM is the classic one of the bunch. If I can find a nice M70 or a Sendero like Pop's I think it would be a fun deer rifle to have in my inventory. Would be nice if Winchester released a M70 Sporter with a 26" barrel. I think that would almost be perfect for me. Scotty

I wonder if these are still available? The 264 WM was last produced in 2005. I suppose it is possible that one is still kicking around. Hmmmm.

My 7 RM gets taken out for a good shoot once a year at least. However, I haven't taken any game with it for about five years. Really, it would do everything I needed in North America, but I would surely miss the other cartridges.

Wow, I am kind of glad that it isn't available right now, or there could be a flurry of selling to afford one! That is a sharp rifle, and all business, that is pretty much what my dream 264 would look like. That just looks GREAT! They really built that one in alot of awesome cartridges also. Be nice to see them reintroduce their custom shop again. Scotty

I confess that I found myself thinking serious about selling a few rifles if these were still available. Perhaps they will reopen the Custom Shop.

I am glad I am not the only one who thought about it. Those are some really fine looking rifles. It is tough coping with this disease sometimes, it is good to have a proper support group! Scotty

And where would this group be found? Not here! Surely not here! This crowd aids and abets me in my weakness!

 That is for sure...every time I see another fine rifle that someone puts a picture up on the forum, it makes the need to justify another one for yourself. My current justification is "I'm buying it for the grand kids" :) Neither of my kids are even in long term relationships (both mid-20's), so this could take a while before some of these things get shot.

You understand that "weakness" is a euphemism for addiction. Maybe I do need a support group.

Cool Rifle!! Isnt that 264 kinda small for you....? That's not your usual M.O. I see you have MOA covered though. Post some pics of those goats. (Alive or on the ground) Nice rifle, good luck! CL

OK next year I will use the 378 Bee on lopers.

Now that sounds like fun! That 378 is a beast. It might even lift them off their hooves! Scotty
