So I happened to find this rifle for sale....

and it arrived a week ago. Thursday evening I picked it up from my FFL, and over the weekend I prepared it as well as mounted a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50 that I borrowed from another rifle. Yesterday I had a chance to sight it in and shoot it using some factory ammo that I had on hand.
With factory 250 grain Nosler Partitions I was hitting our steel gong at 250 yards in repeatable fashion. I found it to be such a hard hitting but easy shooting rifle that I decided it will likely be the rifle I use on my elk hunt in 2 weeks. Charlie was generous enough to share his load data, and I'll be able to put together some loads for it once I return from the hunt.
Thanks to Charlie for the opportunity to be able to own this fine rifle. I hope that I have a chance to get a nice elk and show him what the rifle can do.
