Went out this morning for a drive and saw 2 coyotes. First one didn't get a shot at. Second one was running through a wheat field about 200 yards away. Had the 264 w/95g vmaxs at 3400, led em what seemed to be enough, squeezed off and came back down from recoil just in time to see the tail go flying over his body. Hit him right behind the shoulder, left about a 50 cent piece exit hole. Was a big male, 25-30 lbs, really nice coat, kinda lighter colors for around here. Think I'm gonna skin this one out since he dont have a 6" hole in him :)

Remmy,

Nicely done buddy, congratulations on your first with the 264 Win Mag.

Nice shooting bud! I went out lastnight with the girls (Couldn't stand to watch anymore of the Seahawks game  ) and we didn't see a one.

That is a nice yote! Great shooting. Seems like the 264 is off to a great start! Scotty

Actually Jim, thats #3 so far with the 264 :)

Shot 2, weekend before last, first was 475 yards, 2nd was only 100 or so, got skunked last weekend.

Missed another one this morning, forgot the rangefinder and whadya know, one was standing in a wheat field mousing, all the time in the world to range and dial...Estimated him to be about 350-400 so I put alittle over his back and touched off, nothing. Coyote took off running, went about 100 yards, I got him to stop again, held about 2ft over him and let another 95g vmax go. Missed again, lol. Wished I woulda known how far he was...I think I was shooting over him though.

Yeah, but you really got his attention! He gained an education. He will be a more worthy opponent the next time.

Great job remmy! I gotta get me a coyote someday!

Fotis, you don't ever see coyotes while out hunting? Just wondering, I would think there are tons of coyotes in your AO! Scotty

Jorey,

I would guess you shot over him too. If you were low and kicked up dirt/snow, that coyote would have never stopped until he hit the Mississippi river.

Good job on the coyotes, glad you are doing your part to manage them.

Man, I am getting excited to hunt yotes! Still have a bunch of deer season left though. Maybe Woodycreek will let me come down and "assist" with the coyotes. Scotty

I will get after the song dogs in about 3 weeks.

I think I am going to start off with the M700 Classic 257 Roberts. She is zeroed in at 200 yds with the 110 gr AB.

Thanks to Mark, I now have some 100gr BT's and 110gr AB's to try out also! I really wanna try and kill some yotes with the 25-06. I think it will be enlightening! Scotty

I pushed those at close to 3600 fps from my 264 win mag!

Yup but every single time I have seen them I bowed out to someone from back east.
