no long gun hunting this year

Thanks Again to all!

"Are you well enough for Pheasant next week? CL"

Dr. Karnes encouraged such activities. Likely won't do a bunch of walking behind the dog at first. A tad bit out of shape the legs are I'm sure. Bird numbers are down in our area from what I hear, but going to get some hunting in regardless.

Well, best of luck in the pheasant fields as well!

Pheasant with a handgun... Sounds like fun!

A pheasant hunt may be just the ticket. As Guy mentions, however, with a hangdgun?!? That'll be impressive.

I started out years ago doing it with TC Contender 14". It takes a little discipline, but once you get on to it, it works well. One just needs to keepin mind it does have limitations like anything else,,,25yds is about it. Since I have had an Encore 15", but now a 12". The 12" handles better for me, and really don't give up for knock down. But most generally now, I hunt over a German Shorthair, and that makes it far easier. Most my shots are between 10-20 yds.
I would suggest for anybody want to give it a try,,,get some 3"/8.5 shot and spend some time shooting clays. The trick is to lock your shoulders and elbows, pivot solely from the waist/hips.
Once you get on to it, it's a blast,,, and far less weight to carry. And a good pointer again makes a big difference. At least for pheasants.

Beyond that, got home about an hour ago,,,so far the first Chemo treatment went well. Not feeling too bad as of yet. Hopefully it won't bother so much, and allow me to get some work done.

Onesonek,

Sorry not to have seen your post earlier, I don't get on too often. I've been teaching out of Phil lately and would like to encourage you with 2 things. One, God is not surprised at your trial, and knows exactly how it will all turn out. His will will be done and our desire should be to glorify Him in His will. Two, here are a couple of scriptures that have ment a lot to me over the years. Is 26:3 Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee because he trusts in Thee. Phil 4:6 and following. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your requests known to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all comprehension will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus.

I'll be praying for God's will in your life and may your example of faith be evident to all, especially your family.

Thanks longwinters,,,much appreciated thoughts!!!
Had second Chemo yesterday, and all in all it hasn't bothered much.
I also had an immune booster shot today, hope its achey side effects are minimal with,,,,,,,Pheasant Opener tomorrow!

Though common, not everyone that has chemo experiences all the negative side effects. Perhaps you will be spared most of the dreadful ramifications. Good report. Hopefully, you'll be able to take your mind off the situation through bringing home some pheasant.

I get an immune infusion every week of 30 mg of gamma globulin sub-cutaneously. The discomfort an effects normally only last for one day. They give me headaches as well. I hope that you are spared of that. Good luck with your treatment.

Yeah Ot, so far just a headache from that shot. I'll take that over bone aches!

Dave, if the Gamma Golbulin keeps the Lymphoma from growing and helps your immune system stay healthy, it is a small price to pay. I had my infusion yesterday, I do them at home now, after 18 months of going to the hospital. Glad that it is helping you.
