I think the data for 200 and 225 AB is reversed. In the 35 whelen the start load for the 200 is 54gn max is 58gn. The start for 225 is 56.5 and a max of 60.5. Any ideas whats going on 56.5 gns of varget is at the base of the neck. This is with varget.

is this off their site and comparing it to book data? what fill capacity does it show and case h2o might be different than yours?

Off the site. Shows 99% fill in both. Nosler holds 66.2 gn hs0 i'm using remington brass that hols 70.2 gn

just looked at the data again. they say nosler brass holds 63.3 gn of water in the 200gn data and then say it holds 66.4 gn of water in the 225 data. I dont have a nosler book.

BTW it's useable volume not case volume as volume decreases as bullet weights go up. Also depends on cartridge lengths and bullet base types.

If you're an experienced loader...

Load up each bullet @ 57 grains. And see what that tells you

The 225 gr data came out before the 200 gr AB was introduced. In my old Sako 35 Whelen I ran the 225 gr AccuBond with 60 gr Varget for 2763 fps I believe. It was safe in my gun. With my present Whelen I tried the 200 gr AccuBond with Varget as well and used up to 61 gr. That was before the 200 gr Varget data came out, it was safe in my gun. Maybe they had a different lot of powder at the time they did the 200 gr data. Start low and work up carefully if you decide to go higher.

I've been reloading for about 20 yrs. But no expert. Surprised me when i looked in the case and saw how full it was.

Gerry is your load compressed?

Going to start at 54 and work up to 58. Will also chrono them.
I personally don't think you need to start that low.

Whether or not that data is reversed 54 is going to be lower than published minimum for at least one of them. By 2 grains.

Maybe I'm overly cautious but too little makes me even more nervous than too much.

Be safe brotha

I'd be careful compressing varget very much I use it in a 308 and in warm weather it will spike with you quick ...
