I apologize if this has already come up, but can anyone share their e-tip experiences? For example, did you have a good load with an AccuBond, and tried it out with an e-tip? I'd be particularly interested in what people think of the .308 168 and 180 e-tips and the 100 gr .257 e-tip. Thanks.

I simply test E-Tips because I want to know how they work. Candidly, I have found that I more quickly find a load with these monolithic bullets than I do with bonded core bullets. The AccuBond works very well in a variety of cartridges I have tested, but the E-Tip is working as well--or better--in most of those same cartridges. A 130 grain E-Tip has become my "go to" bullet in the 270 WSM.

I can tell the 168 E-Tip out of a 300 RUM did a # on the neck of a 6x6 bull elk several days ago. It was also easy to find the load. I also have a good load with 180 E-Tip in that rifle that was also easy to find. I have not used accubonds in that rifle so can not compare the loads.

My son uses the 90 gr. E-tip in his 6mm Remington and with it he has taken I believe 3 antelope, one nice buck deer, and a big old cow elk with it. The elk was at 350 yards and she was hit tight behind her right shoulder. The bullet angled slightly and went out her left shoulder - EXITED!! She went about 20 yards and tipped over. Wow it is a good one that E-tip. I think I need to try them in some other calibers as they have performed so well.

You cannot destroy them at close range either, and they open up at long ranges just fine too. I have recovered them from water jugs at 25, 100, 200, 300, and 400 yards. None at 500 yet, but I would be they work just fine there too.

I've taken two deer with the 150 grain E-tip out of the 280 Remington.
No issues with either one.
I've got a decent load for my 243 with 87 grain E-tips.
I tried the 168 grain in my 308 but the results with the first load were disappointing on paper. I'm not giving up on that though.
I'm interested in your results with the .308 and .257 if you try them.

The 150 Etip shot very well in my 7mm MSM, the 100 Etip shoots excellent in my 25-06 and I did pretty well with the 168 in my old 300 WSM.. Seems like they like .100" for jump. I have started them closer but always ended up deeper.

I've taken elk with 150gr E-Tip in one of my 30-06. When I started loading for it I shot 165gr AB,168gr E-Tip and best accuracy was with 150gr E-Tip and 165gr AB. I started 2009 using the E-Tip and last year I decided to try 165gr AB and I've been equally happy with them. I've got some 180gr E-Tip I've been going to try in one of the 30-338mag's this winter for next year. I think I'm around .070" off the lands with E-Tip.

My other 30-06 I shoot 180gr Partition.

I wonder if the 168 is too long for optimal results with most .308 Win rifles? I've got a few boxes of the 168 E-Tip, and it sure looks like a pretty long bullet. I'll have to compare it to a standard jacketed 168 sometime.
