I really hope these BC's are dead on or super close so I can serve some haters with crow every dinner for the next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have much more patience than me with some of the guys at 24hourcampfire that are very negative about a bullet that no one outside of Nosler has even seen yet :) Even if the b.c. is a bit optimistic and the jacket isn't as heavy as some like they are going to be great bullets :) Can't wait to try the 129 gr 6.5mm.

Same here Gerry.

I hope they do work out, both in bc and price I am curious how they are gaining such a huge advantage over the 208 amax???

Secant vs. Tangent ogives be my guess.
Tangent's tend to show better at the muzzle, wheras Secant's tend to show better as velocity decreases. It could be Nosler figured on those backside velocities where the AB VLD is meant used.

That should be a good one in my Creedmoor...

As stated by other's, this design will add to the performance of the modest to smaller case capacity rounds. Then too, JD and I were discussing the use in handcannons, where velocity is typically 2-400 fps slower than when used in a rifle barrel length. They will shine in this use as well.

I would love to let a few elk or big CO mulies feel the sting of a 150gr .270 over top of some IMR4350..hehehhehe!!

HA! That'll be cool Pat. I am looking forward to monkeying with them when they are available. Although, I have alot of PT's and BT's still!

Yup sometimes these guys drive me nuts! They make me want to strip them down and strangle them with their berger bullet thongs!![/quote]

Thanks a lot FOTIS. I haven't laughed this hard in awhile trying to make a mental picture of this!

Yes, since Bergers are really pointy it could be a little uncomfortable

Thankfully at HuntingBC they have been pretty positive about them no whining about prices yet.

Out of curiousity, why hasn't Nosler made an official announcement/press release about these? Do you guys know when they will be available for sure?

We made the announcement on behalf of Nosler.
First production quantities are scheduled for Spring 2013.

Fotis and JD, there seems to be a lot of interest here on this forum about shooting .257 caliber rifles with many people owning .25-06's. Is there any chance of Nosler considered the inclusion of a long Range AccuBond for 1 in 10 twist, .257 calibers, like a 110 grain AB for instance?

Palouser - JD338 & FOTIS have real jobs, and are both great guys, but they do their work on this forum as serious, die-hard fans of Nosler. They're not employees. Often JD338 or FOTIS will have some inside scoop about things happening at Nosler, and they share that info here on the forum.

The forum belongs to Nosler, and I'm glad they've provided this great place for us to exchange info about all things hunting & shooting related.

Heck, I'm a die-hard Nosler fan myself, started using them in the 1970's. Used their bullets to shoot my way to NRA "High Master" in long range rifle, and have taken most of my game animals with them as well.

Regards, Guy

This is probably a stupid question, but do you (JD338) and FOTIS work for Nosler?

No, Fotis and I do not work for Nosler.
As Guy mentioned, we get the inside scoop and are asked by Nosler to pass it along as we did here with the ALR announcement.
