Nosler Long range Accubond Additional info

Yes on the first,,,,,,can't help much on the second with that particular Barnes. Mono's can be fickle.

Pertinent to the new AccuBond Long Long Range bullet introduction, I have a project .30-06 caliber rifle which I rebuilt last year which would be a perfect rifle to use as the basis for a longer range load development project. I would prefer to use the 190 grain (.640 BC) bullet for load development of a longer range rifle load in this .30-06 Model 70 which I rebuilt.

Last year, I took the ugly duckling Tupperware, USRAC matte rifle bought by me about 1995 and restocked and refloorplated it, by upgrading the stock to a Custom Shop Grade II walnut and matching the matte metal finish with a new one piece William's floorplate assembly. The rifle already has the extractor and the BOSS attachment which I have found assisted this specific rifle in attaining exceptional accuracy. That is why I want to use it for this project. I can use the local gun club membership for load development to 200 meters. Beyond that, I will have to find a place to shoot. There are no public ranges in Whatcom County, Washington that are longer than 300 yards.

Since I upgraded my .340 Weatherby with a new trigger, Euromark stock and subsequently sold the rifle to someone who will hunt with it. I needed a new project rifle and this one already had some work and investment done on it. It will be the perfect long range project rifle. Hopefully, I will be able to get some of these .308 caliber, 190 grain, .640 BC bullets soon, in order to get started with load development? According to the literature released with these bullets, they also should stabilise just fine in my 1:10 Winchester Model 70 barrel?

With that low end threashold of 1300 fps feature on these Charlie, I totally agree the 190 would be quite good in the .30-06. Even the 210's are going to geta try in my 06.

Dave, I agree that they should cook in the '06. I am looking forward to getting my hands on these and testing them for gilt edged, long range accuracy in my '06!

I can't wait to try them in the 300WSM. Should be a fun load work up.

Charlie that bullet will make a 30-06 seem like a 300 mag of 20 years ago. Man, talk about keeping a 30-06 on life support!

Just an FYI fellas

Wow - the Berger .284" 180 gr VLD bullet has been all the rage with the 7mm shooters predominantly because of its high BC of .659. Nosler's new 175gr has a (slightly) higher BC and could theoretically be shot faster. If this bullet shoots well it should be a top seller into the foreseeable future.

Scotty, I agree that bullet would make me hunt with my .30-06 Model 70 again as my primary rifle for deer and not bad for elk either.

I really hope these BC's are dead on or super close so I can serve some haters with crow every dinner for the next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have much more patience than me with some of the guys at 24hourcampfire that are very negative about a bullet that no one outside of Nosler has even seen yet :) Even if the b.c. is a bit optimistic and the jacket isn't as heavy as some like they are going to be great bullets :) Can't wait to try the 129 gr 6.5mm.

That is why I hang around here, I don't tolerate hecklers and downers well. If you haven't tried something don't knock it is my motto!

Yup sometimes these guys drive me nuts! They make me want to strip them down and strangle them with their berger bullet thongs!!

I'll gladly eat my crow...Matter of fact, I'd even enjoy it if the BC's are accurate..I really want them to be, but I remain skeptical.

Even if they are a little off at lower velocities, it is okay with me. The 1300 fps working expansion and the higher velocity BC numbers will still be pretty impressive for "standard caliber" usage.

I hope they do work out, both in bc and price I am curious how they are gaining such a huge advantage over the 208 amax???

I have Faith in our Nosler people in this new creation. I'm sure from the inception of the idea they went thru the design process carefully to deliver us a quality product. I truly believe the high BC will be spot on.

This will give Berger good competition.

It will be interesting how they perform at 50 yards or so, with the low 1300 fps opening. Looking forward to trying these in the 300 wm
