I would like to share a hunting story with the Partition that I was a small part of when Scott, a friend of mine last summer received his Custom 35 Whelen built on a Mauser Action. He was having difficulty deciding what load to use on Moose. Here is what he wrote me.
Hey Mike, thanks for all your help this past summer.
Just a note to say, "The 35 Whelen claimed another Newfoundland Moose..!"
Your tips on powder, brass, primers and OAL were a great help, and also, the things you spoke of concerning the TSX bullet.
I wound up going with your suggestion concerning the 250 grain Partition. The Partition accuracy gave me the confidence I needed to take the shot.
However, the shot was a close one and the bullet punched completely through the near shoulder and out the other side just behind the other shoulder. Before I could re-chamber the next round, the Bull was tipping over...Perfect.!
Thanks again Mike,
Scott
Like I have always told my friends, "when in doubt or concerned about the kill, remove the doubt and use the Partition."
