Not my hunt but I loaded the ammo

Well, I'm deployed of course so no hunting for me until November 5th. My buddy tried his hand at bear hunting last weekend, first time in his life, with a tag he drew this summer. He got a nice black bear on the second day at only 15 yards, which he shot in the chest and dropped on the spot with his Interarms mark X 30-06. He saw 6 bears up to that point but most had cubs or it was just so thick he couldn't make a shot. I loaded 180 Nosler Accubonds for that rifle about 2 years ago. He has since taken a bull elk, muley buck, and now a black bear in the last 2 years. Even, though I wasn't there (I would have loved to been), I'm glad I could play a part in his success and was real happy to hear the story and see the pictures. He said he almost fainted after he shot the bear LOL. I get just as excited if someone has a successful hunt and it was nice to hear all about it, thousands of miles from home. I'm definitely looking forward to this fall, less than 2 months away already!

Nice story. Thanks for sharing, killing something with something put to gether or made is truly satifiing. Thanks for you service and be safe for the next two months.

It is quite satisfying to know that you made it happen for your friend. Good on you. Looking forward to hearing about your hunt this fall.

Wow! Excellent!

I too enjoy loading good hunting ammo and seeing, or even hearing about the results on game.

Congrats!

Same here. I just loaded up 20 180gr BT's with RL22 and 20 180gr PT's for my buddy that bought my old 300WM. Figure they are two known good loads and once we get to the range, he can decide what he wants to take to Wyoming for Muleys. Pretty excited to hear how he makes out with it. It was a great rifle for me, but I think it has gone to a better home. Scotty

I am convinced that the 180gr AccuBond has got to be one of the best and all around bullets for the 30-06 in so many ways. Just as I think the 200gr AccuBond is one of the best all around bullet for the 300Win mag and the 300Wby mag. The AccuBond gives you so much in terms of a bullet that opens so quickly yet will hold together with the addition of having a great BC and is usually a very accurate bullet in most rifles I have tried it in.

I'm pretty sure once I invest in my 300WSM it will get stoked with either 180gr AB or PTs. They will work plenty good for anything the 300 will ever tackle. Heck I may give the 200gr Noslers a try as well.
