A rancher I know called and said he was having issues with beavers plugging a culvert causing some flooding in his pasture.I took the 223 and ammo loaded w 55 grain Ballistic tips and Benchmark powder.This one came to check out the culvert and I took him in the back of the head at roughly 40 yards. He immediately sank. I continued my watch and about an hour an a half later the beaver floated up. I waded in and pulled him ashore. The tail will bring $35 in bounty and the rest will go for a friend baiting bears.

Once almost extinct in parts of central MD they have made a comeback to the point that they have become a nuisance to home owners since they like to eat the small trees.
