Official Nosler 300gr 338 AB Load Data

If I didn't have my 375RUM that launches the 300gn AB at 2800+fps, I'd be all over giving these a try.

There's something real impressive about a good 300 gr .338 bullet, rocking along at 2700 fps...

I would like to give them a whirl in my 338WM. I know it won't run with the big guys, but I think it would still be very fun.

Mason, do you have a table prepared for the .340 Weatherby? Just asking, not expecting you to do any special work on this.

With that bullet going 2350-2400 fps it would be a pretty amazing grizzly and moose load, I would love to see how well it does out of a 338 WM.

Give me some time Gerry and I will get it done! Might be a few months, but I think I will give it a whirl.

Charlie, could you use the 300 grain Sierra Data in order to work up a load with the Weatherby... That might get you into the ballpark and I think Sierra is listing some of that data in their latest book? Might be worth it to see what the big 340 does..

Charlie,

Start with the Sierra load data, it should be close for the 300 gr AB. I would think you should get into the 2600 fps range. Look at the numbers, they are impressive.

Scotty,

I seem to recall something about you having some 338 RUM brass.

All in good time Jim! Hoping for a M70 in the next few years. Seems like they broaden their line a little every year...

Thanks JD, I will keep this in mind.

So a 1/10 twist rate in my jap built 340 may work..??? I tried some 300 mk and it sure didnt like them. it loves 250 partitions....never tried250abonds.

Glad to see Nosler is including case brand and capacity of for the 338LM.
98 grains seems pretty low though. The two different head stamps that I have are as follows.
Lapua Military 98 = 113 grains of water
Factory Lapua = 116 grains of water
The one Sierra 300 MatchKing I have has a bearing surface length of .566" using two of the Sinclair bullet comparators.
