If you have your 2014 Oregon Cougar tag, Bring your winter camp. I supply the campfire.
 
That should be a ton of fun! Wishing you every success; it does sound as if you have the right conditions to cut a track or two.
 
Camp is about 10 miles north of the town of Fort Rock, Go past the cabin lake Guard station take the next main left, west. Sign on corner with Winter Range map. Camp is on legal north boundary rd.

Damn no secrets any more. Been a while since I've been into the fort rock area. For those curious about how long an area can be a good hunting area, fort rock holds some of the oldest native American artifacts ever located. The most noted is the fort rock sandal which was carbon dated at more than 5000 years old. It was good hunting then and I'm betting Baltz has located the mule deer wintering ground and it will be good hunting now.
Good luck wish I could join you. That is some of the most unique country in Oregon.
 
I understand from someone else in his hunting party that baltz got a cat. No one has seen pictures yet, but we're all waiting! :mrgreen:
