A pair of older Blackhawks, with brass grip frames! These also have the original grips, but the prior owner had really big hands and went with these Pachmayer grips long ago. Also have left and right matching leather holsters.

One is a .357 mag, the other a .45 Colt, with a spare .45 ACP cylinder.

Nice old revolvers that have seen some use, but are in excellent shape all things considered. One for each son!

Pretty nice looking set of wheelguns, Guy. The Colt would be interesting.

My Dad decided it was time to give them to his grandsons. I thought that was pretty cool.

Nicer older Blackhawks, Guy. I still have a 6.5 inch, .357 Blackhawk Bisley from that same era, plus a couple of USFA Colts in 45 Colt (Bisley and standard frame). I still enjoy shooting them and they will go to my kids eventually.

Man, that is a cool pair Guy. I love them Ruger's alot. They are tanks!

Thanks guys. Dad got these in the early 1980's sometime - used - they came with those brass grip frames. I understand that they were avail from Ruger for a time (rare) and also as aftermarket items in the 1960's, 70's and into the 1980's. I don't know if these guns came with the brass grip frames or if the owner prior to Dad put them on the guns.

I haven't shot them in quite a few years, but like all Blackhawks they were solid and accurate. Good guns for the outdoorsman. My sons should be well pleased with them. Young John and I may get out to the range with the revolvers sometime this weekend. I've got ammo for both on hand.

Guy,

Those are very nice. Your sons will be proud to carry Grandpa's Blackhawks.

Those are very sharp. Great gifts. I'm starting to take a shine to the 45LC cartridge.

Wish Ruger had made a Blackhawk in .480 Ruger.

So today we decided to put the original grips back on the .45 Blackhawk. Looks good, and my son said that he likes the feel of it better too. Cool. Didn't get to the range with it yet though.

I gotta' say, I like the original grips for looks. That makes the handgun look sharp.

Nice on so many levels. Must be fun to see them shooting Dads revolvers. Very cool. CL

I have small hands and can not handle the large oversized rubber Hogue type grips. That is why I have two Bisley's, because they fit my hands so well. However the regular Colt and Ruger type grips fit fine too.
