Took my old Vari-X III scope a 4.5-14x, and just had Leupold re-fit it with M1 adjustment dials. Fee was $130, down time was about a week and a half including shipping both ways.

I haven't re-mounted it on the rifle, but it sure looks good.

Will post photos when I've got a working digi camera again and will give a range report when I can. The scope has been on a number of my rifles over the years but most recently found home on a .300 WSM Win 70 that's destined for mid-long range hunting. The external adjustments should come in real handy for that.

Guy,

Congratulations. You are going to love the M1 dials!
I agree with you, Leupold turn around time to get the dials is very fast.
I have found the repeatability to be excellent.

JD - yep - I've always liked 'em on other scopes. Have had this scope for some time and like it a lot - but wanted the M1's for easier windage & elevation adjustment for long range shooting. I think they're going to work out real well. It's an accurate rifle, and needed a good scope.

Pretty nice Guy. i have a scope identical to your, and I'm thinking about doing the samething to it. Glad it went so well for you.

Call Gabe Lang at Leupold, he will get it done for you.
You will have it back in 2 weeks.

Took the .300 WSM to the range yesterday, with the scope re-mounted. Due to the 20 MOA inclined Badger scope base, the scope is near the bottom of it's adjustment range when sighted in at 100 yards. This makes me happy, since I intend to use the rifle primarily for longer- range hunting situations.

The M1 knobs are terrific! Just the ticket if a guy is going to do a lot of knob twisting for windage and elevation changes. Funny thing, I didn't move the windage knob one bit from where Leupold had it centered - it was all perfectly lined up by coincidence. I did dial down the elevation considerably.

So far, so good. I couldn't take it past 100 yards yesterday though. Will get it over to the 200 - 600 yard lines soon.

Regards, Guy

Good news Guy!

Keep us posted with your results.

Life is good with M1 dials.

Well, there she is, all setup with new knobs. I'm entirely satisfied. Scope is on my .300 WSM Win Model 70.
