Scope base showed up this afternoon and I got a 3-9 Redfield Tracker on the Pre 64 Model 70 30-06.
Took up a pet load I put together in 2009 for the sight in and first 100 yard try.
Hit low left at 10 yards. Adjusted and shot 1 at 25. Adjusted and shot 1 at 50. Hit way right and was thinking it was the rifle. Made another adjustment and got it back to the middle.
This scope has no clicks but it seems each mark is 1/2 inch af 100 yards.
Set up a target at 100 and put the first two right together. The third one I think is all on me as I called it out as soon as I pulled the trigger. Shot one more and it went right in with the first two.
I’m calling this a surprising success.
The 67 year old gun still has potential.
