Just picked up a new toy and have been looking everywhere for data/help on Ruger scope mounting options. I want to be able to shoot steel to 1400+ yds and will need lots of "UP" in my scope. Since I only have a 1" tube Leupold I'm limited.

The dilema, can anyone tell me if they've used the Burris Ruger to Weaver adapters and then been able to put Burris Signature Zee rings ( with the inserts ) on to get an extra 20-25 MOA? I've done this with my Ruger 77/22 and it worked out nicely but as I've researched this a little more the Centerfire rifle has different height rings in front and back that need to be matched. The rimfire uses the same height on both. Now, Burris does show a different part number for the 77/22 adapter vs. the regular 77 adapter but I haven't been able to find out if the bases are staggered for height. Hoping somebody has already "skinned this cat" on the Ruger 77 centerfires. (I do have a call in to Burris but I'm going crazy wanting to get my stuff here so I can start breaking her in!!)

Would appreciate hearing from some of you. Also, if you're aware of any different base/ring setups that will allow setting some slope to her I'd be interested in that too. Trying to keep it simnple!~ Thanks

What kind of ballistics are you seeing? What is your MOA drop out to 1400 yards? Then you kinda got an idea. You might be able to offset your rings like a high in the front a medium in the back to gain what you need.

How much elevation. do you have after you've zeroed? I think the leupolds have 80 moa in them depending on the power. the creedmore should be close to 35 moa at that distance I think? I would have to look at my 6.5x47 chart to give you a better guess. You should have enough.elevation left to get there, usually you will be in the middle of your elevation when you zero without a canted rail. the medium front high rear ring won't work and you will probably bend your tube in the process. it may be possible to have a Smith drill and tap the receiver to accommodate a rail? I think there scout rifle has a rail on it but am not sure how they did it.
