Welded it up this morning. I'd like to add some angled braces from the cross bar to the legs to add some more stability. Would have built another one but my mig welder quit working, and had a hard time not burning holes with the stick.

I need to build five more for all the 3/8" AR 500 plate I have. I've got two 10" and four 6" squares. The tailgate chain latches that I bought were a little long for my height but one wrap around the bar fixed that problem.

Can't wait to get these out to where I can stretch my rifles legs.

Those are nice.
I may make up something like it but I think I may add leg extensions so it can sit above the grass.

I just got my AR500 plates in the mail today (via mom and dad) and I need to figure some way to hang them.

Looking good!

I use 3 pieces of 4' rebar. Pound two pieces vertical/parallel rebar in the ground using the target plate. Put a T on each and run the last piece of rebar through it. Hang the plate with 2 S hooks (pre-attached/bent to the plate). Wallah! I keep a can of white paint nearby to clear the target.

Or... Weld a square tube on the back side and slide another piece of rebar through it. For legs weld a 45 degree, with a little piece under it like a brace. Then slide the top bar through the little opening, then kick the legs out tight. Just another idea...

Grass is usually pretty short where I shoot. We don't see much rain around here.
