I am using IMR 4831 powder and wonder if anyone has found a powder measure that accurately measures this tubular kernal shaped powder.

Someone at the local gun shop told me about a powder measure and scale combination but didn't have any specific information.

What is the best tool to measure this powder for accurate charges without pouring every charge by hand? Thanks.

I have no experiance with the scale/measure combos, but I have found the "Quick Measure" to be one of the best measure for throwing charges with extruded powders. It doesn`t "cut" the sticks, and measures all powders noticably more accuratly then my old Lyman 55. It is a bit pricey though.

For all purposes I think the accuracy of all the major manufactures digital scale/measures work fairly well, if that is what you have your heart set on. They are definitly fast and quite accurate from everything I`ve read or heard.

Thanks Wally .... Good article and very timely since I am currently looking at replacing my manual powder measure.

JD338,

Thanks for the welcome. I've been hanging around for quite a while now. There's some good information around here. It's also a lot more civilized than some other places I've been lately. Keep up the good work.
