Yes indeed. I load 180 AB,s and 180 PT,s and 180 GK .015 TO .020 OFF THE LANDS. I have a long throated rem 700 rifle and a generous magizine. I have never loaded any 300mag shorter than 3.400. The sammi max of 3.340 is basically a length factory ammo is made to in order to ensure the ammo fits all types of actions.

Reloader 22 with 180 grain Nosler Accubonds shoot in the 0.7" range and Hornady 180 grain SST's with IMR 7828 shoots in the 0.9" range.
I think I can tweak both to shoot better.
