Glenn and I got out for several hours not too long ago to break-in a couple of new steel targets that I have purchased for WY-SHOT 2026. Glenn did the painting on both the antelope and the deer.
Antelope at 502 yards and the deer at 630ish.
Majority of shooting was from a portable bench.
At the end, I fired 10 or so shots standing off of my tripod.
Glenn shot a center grip 22 Creedmoor and a rear grip 223 Remington.
I brought three rear- grip specialty pistols.
6GT, 6.5 Creedmoor, and a 6.5 PRC.
We had a lot of fun, and especially pistol shot great. The wind was fairly nice to us. At the end, I had 10 rounds or so left with my rear grip, single shot 6.5 PRC, and Glenn reminded me that that I wanted to do some practice from the standing position off of my tripod. With 10 or so rounds left I shot at the 502 yard antelope and made a really nice group. One of those shots went just to the right of the vitals as the wind let off on me, but other than that, I couldn’t have been more pleased. I’ve got some videos and pictures below. I will be doing much more practice from the standing position in the next 11 months.

I didn't make one thing clear, Glenn and I did NOT make these targets.
I purchased them, and Glenn painted them.

The other thing, I didn't mention, is that with my 6.5 PRC I was shooting extremely light fireforming loads...130's at 2525 or 2535 fps.
That is about what a 15" 6.5x47 Lapua would do.

Did those slower rounds deviate more than your typical load? Amount of drop and response to the wind more specifically?

Don't have a typical load yet.
These were just light fireforming rounds-100 rounds
