Today a big box arrived containing a couple of European/skull mounts from last fall's hunt. It's getting kind of full up there in the loading/gun/fly tying room:

Might take the mule deer to work and hang in my office there. Sure can't use my chair while I've got the antlers parked on it!

This is the first time I used Powder River Taxidermy in Broadus, Montana. Great people to deal with. I would have had the mounts at least four or five weeks earlier, but somehow two phone messages from them were inadvertently deleted. They did good work, finished on time, shipped the mounts safely and had reasonable prices.

Looking good mounts, Guy.

I think that is a fast turn-around time.

Very nice,

Guy,
Looks like they do good work. Save some room for the African animals now.

Very nice Guy. Makes that Muley look REALLY big, to me anyway and the black/white contrast on the goat is cool! Like that! CL

Looks as though they did a great job for you Guy. The goat antlers look really nice mounted that way.

Very handsome addition for your gun/fly-tying room, Guy. Congratulations on some fine looking mounts.

Very nice Guy.

I'm a fan of euro mounts myself and like your color selections on the wood.

Good looking mounts Guy! I'm starting to dig European mounts more after getting two Whitetail deer done.

Thanks guys!

Someday I'd like to get a nice head & shoulder pronghorn mount done, like Cloverleaf has. They are such striking looking animals. ALMOST went with that even though my pronghorn is hardly "big daddy." He was the biggest horned buck I saw in several days of hunting. Was told the drought had really limited feed for them this year, inhibiting horn growth. What do I know about pronghorns? Not much, except that they're really cool and I hope to hunt them again!

The European/skull mounts appeal to me. I think they're good looking. They don't take up much room. And, have to add this, they're considerably less expensive. I'd still kind of like to get a full head & shoulder mount pronghorn done sometime though.

Still haven't found a good home for the mulie buck mount. Somewhere here at home.

I am no pronghorn expert, but I have been told the same thing. Even with good genes, it takes adequete rainfall (whatever that is...) into late summer for a buck to grow really big horns. Nothing wrong with that buck of yours Guy. Id be happy to put him on the wall any day. Also, my mount was a gift so that helps a lot. "If "Bob in Tx" is still around the board, maybe he will post some pics of his mounts. He got a couple real "toads" and some beautiful mounts. One of the guys I was on that antelope hunt with has a european WT mount in the "reading room". His wife must be a saint....CL
