I'll bet that 7 mm would be interesting.
I kind of like the bigger bore ideas, 33, 35 even the 416 might be neat.
Thanks RR!

Does this mean all these wildcats were submitted to SAAMI for approval??

The .27 Nosler is an interesting one.

..imagine 3400 ft/sec with a 150grain ABLR..

I was thinking the same thing.....

Although, a 35 Nosler would be terribly wicked as well.

Good observation, Scotty.

The .37 Nosler would also become a bad one...or a .45Nosler. The world is open...go pop the balloons.

This has probably been talked about, but does the 26 nosler require a mag bolt face?

The rim diameter is .534"... Which is the same as the RUM family of cartridges.

So i guess i wont be building one out of my win 70 long action

Winchester <briefly> chambered the RUM so I'm guessing the bolt face could be opened up. .300WM is .532".

Length probably isn't as big of a concern with the 26N as the RUM cartridges.

Some comparisons...based on case capacity.

27 Nosler = 270/300 Weatherby Mag

28 Nosler = 7mm STW, but in a standard length action. I think this has good potential but it will have an uphill battle since the STW has been around a while.

30 Nosler = 300 Weatherby Mag

33 Nosler = 340 Weatherby Mag

35 Nosler = There is room for this one, its closest competitor is the 358 STA (Shooting Times Alaskan)...the 358 has a little more capacity, but the Nosler case doesn't give up anything that will be missed.

41 Nosler = no direct competitor, all the other big 416's have more capacity.

Those are all pretty general in terms of accuracy, but they should be pretty close.

I gotta admit...that .416 is pretty interesting to me...especially if they don't load it to the gills with heavy bullets. Something that pushes 300 to 350gr bullets at 2400-2600 would be a great AK gun.

Don't get me wrong- a lot of the other .416s are great cartridges...but just too much of a good thing. A .416 with a (not made yet) 300gr Partition or AccuBond at 2500fps would be a great moose/bear rifle.

That would make it a beltless .416 Taylor loaded to realistic pressures...

The 416 Ruger is pretty darn close, I overlooked that one...and completely forgot about the 416 Taylor being standardized a few years back.
