Seem like good places to catch birds loafing after the early morning action has settled down.on yesterdays walk I came across where turkeys have been dusting , in a sandy patch on a dirt road . I didn't have my phone along yesterday . I'm sure there were 4 dusting bowls here yesterday . I got out early today , trying to beat the rain . today there are six dusting bowls . I usually only see one , with maybe a second one off a little ways . I took a bunch of pics trying to show what these dusting bowls look like . I think these are the best pics from the bunch I took . this is just one more turkey sign to look for when out scouting . sorry , my dog Sally had to walk across them a little . I find these in dirt spots . in the open canopy where there is dry dusty dirt . I know where there is a single one , I'll try to get pics of it tomorrow . maybe todays rain won't ruin it .this is on a very hard pack road . the turkey was really digging to get some lose dirt scratched up . a few years ago I watched a hen dusting close to where this single one is . it's comical to watch them dust . wings are out flapping and they are leaning to and fro in this cloud of dust . at first , I thought two birds were fighting . nope just one dusting
