New to reloading and wondering if there is anyway to purchase smaller qtys of bullets for testing without having to buy in the 100 packs? Hate ending up with left over bullets from purchases that just didn't perform the way I hoped they would.

IMO you should research what bullet and powder you really want and stick with them. Varying powder charges and seating depth is the best way to accurize a load. I haven't found a bullet I can't get to shoot yet, as long as your expectations are reasonable. This forum is a great place to start. All you have to do is ask

I am not sure of smaller quantity packs, but you may be able to post up in the wanted section for what you are looking for and some folks with those bullets may be willing to sell you some small batches for testing. Scotty

I have done just that on several occasions, It worked out great.
Some wanted money, others trade for different bullets. A couple said make a donation to help support the forums.
I was able to test a lot of different bullets for very little cash.

Wongs83, What are you looking for?

Welcome to the forum, glad you are here.

Being new to reloading, you will soon realize that as you try new powders, primers and bullets, you will end up with an inventory! I have been loading for 36 years so you can't enen imagine what I have in my shop!

Nosler did offer a "Test the Best" for their varmint bullet line, allowiny you to buy 5-10 bullets.
They do now offer some PT's in 25 count boxes as well.

What are you loadind?

Scotty,

Good point buddy.
Exactly why I asked what he was loading......

Exactly - between all of us, we've probably got all sorts of bullets on hand and wouldn't mind at all sending a few bullets to someone for test purposes.

There was an outfit that was selling small quantities of bullets for a while - I don't recall the name though - not sure they're still in business.

I was trying not to put us all on the hook, but I don't mind sending some bullets around to folks to try. Plenty of guys have done it for me while getting started and it certainly saves from having lots of extra bullets on the bench. One man's trash is another man' treasure really applies to us handloader/bullet hoarders! Scotty

I am thinking the same thing as you guys what is it he wants to try ?? Does anyone know what caliber???
