QL data for 22BR with 80 grain CC bullets

Hey Mike, Scott, etc...looking for QL data for the new 80 grain CC bullet in .224 in the 22BR. I am especially interested in info on IMR 8208XBR. Show me what QL says for the 75 grain A-max as well if you have time. I have a really nice load worked up with R15, but am a little disappointed with the velocities (3120-3150).

This has been a fun caliber to play with and should make a great p-dog rifle and possibly a backup rifle to use in my f-class league if I can get the high BC bullets to shoot with enough velocity :roll:

I'm a little surprised with the velocities that QL is showing. I was shooting 29.5 grains of R15 with the 75 grain A-max today with no pressure signs at all. The 30 grain load opened a bit, but still showed no pressure signs. My chamber is cut for the Norma version rather than the Remington, which may make a difference. thanks again

You may be correct that the chambers differ enough to produce significant deviation. We can provide a more precise calculation if we know the case volume. Do a measurement and I'll gladly generate those numbers. I also note that the MAP is only 58740 psi, measured by what is identified as "Wildcat." I wonder if slightly higher pressures are tolerated in this particular cartridge.

I will do a volume measurement when I get back from the road trip I'm on. I think there is both the larger volume and the ability to use higher pressures. I'm not sure what brass is being used for most of the load work done by the bullet manufacturers. Mine is all 6BR Lapua brass necked down with a .251 bushing. I have 6BR brass that has been loaded close to 30 times now that still have primer pockets as tight as when they were new...and I'm running some pretty hot loads of Varget in those.
