I am considering working a new load for the 3006. And there has been shot of talk about powders lately. And shoot of info shows that rl22 and 7828ssc could be close to if not the same powder. Could someone run a quick load for me. Running a 165 part and 7828ssc. Curious to see if this could be done with good results. Thanks
 
It would be a compressed load.

Thanks drMike. It sure would be compressed. I do have a couple pounds of 760. I may give that a try.
 
Yeah, it would be compressed, but not beyond what I consider acceptable. I'm more focused on the fact that a number of other powders give you load ratios that I consider to be closer to optimal with corresponding velocity increases.
 
7828ssc was more of a curiosity add to how efficient it would be in the 3006. I have have been putting off developing a load for my 3006 with the Partition due to the long throat of the rem 700. But with hunting season over it time to start working some new loads. Luckily the mag well is also very long. My starting col is gonna be 3.482" .010" off the lands
