I am looking for a good place to start with a rifle that was gifted to me. The rifle is an improved variant of the 6.5x55 case, but I have been unable to find any talk of it on the web. The rifle is a Remington 700, so I'd like to set the pressure limit at 60,000 psi. Once I have an idea of where to start and what looks promising, I can take it from there.

I'm not certain I follow you. The propellant you choose will dictate where to start, of course. Choose your maximum chamber pressure and begin at least 5% below that charge before working up. Some people will advise to begin 10% below charge, and with some propellants, that can be sage advice. Here is a projection provided by QL for the 6.5X55 Ackley Imp. that may give you an idea of possible loads.
