Talked to a fellow yesterday, a cop from another department. He's loading & shooting 1,000 rounds of handgun ammo every week for the past two years.

Allowed as how he's getting pretty good anymore...

This guy doesn't tinker with his loads. He came up with a good one, quickly, and just keeps reproducing it in mass so he can shoot, and shoot, and shoot...

Said he wore out his Dillon in two years and sent it in for a re-build, no problem. Thought it might be of interest.

Wow, that is some serious loading for sure.

I have a good buddy that used to shoot matches and said he wore out a Dillon as well and they replaced/rebuilt as needed. I think he said he was shooting 1000 or more rounds a week as well. I cannot imagine that kind of volume. Doing a 100 44RM loads is alot for me on the Forster. Scotty

That is a lot of shooting! Says a lot about Dillion.

It would be great to have that sort of time to shoot. Does your friend go through a fair number of handguns, Guy? Is he loading for several calibres? Or is he shooting just one calibre?

I too used to shoot around a thousand rounds of pistol ammo a week.
I bought a Dillon Square Deal about 20 years ago and I know I've loaded close to 100k rounds on it.
Anytime something breaks or wears out you call Dillon and they back up their lifetime no BS warranty without a question.

Over the years I have accumulated just about every caliber pistol dies Dillon makes for the Square Deal.

I ever get serious about volume loading 223 ammo you can bet I'm gonna buy another Dillon.

I have my Dillon Squae Deal set for my 45acp and I load a lot of ammo with it. I also have a spare tool head with a set up for 40 s&w to load for my wifes pistol. Since I use factory for carry and on duty my loads are practice only and I have one load with 185 plated for the ACP and another for 135 plated for the 40 both using ww231. I keep it real simple.

I bought a Dillon XL 650 to load 10mm. It's a fantastic machine and it works out great because I'll burn about 500 rounds a week. The powder check system is great for volume loads and it can easily be changed between calibers. Just pull two pins and switch out the tool head and with a few turns of an allen key you can switch out the shell plate and the primer magazine. I can't say enough good things about Dillon and how great that machine has been for me!

I used to shoot a ton of pistol/revolver. I have an RCBS Ammomaster for 9mm and .38/.357, and a Dillon 550 for .45ACP. They are still in moving boxes, awaiting my renewed interest in short-guns.

My brother has a Dillon and we use it to load for our .40 S&Ws, Works great. But we don't shoot near that volume between us

+1 for the Dillon. Even with a basic setup you can roll out 14 rds/min when you're reloading your primer and case tube manually. Very well built, sturdy peice of equipment; well worth the price if you want to do large volume pistol loading. Have never used it for rifle yet...

Honestly.... I wish I could afford to do that!!!!!!
