question for nosler on 2nds

good afternoon guys,,,just received my seconds today(took 12 days but that was another issue),,,the 270 bt's have a yellow tip,,,is there a reason why mine are grey,,,these were ordered for a friend at work and what do i tell him,,,should i be concerned or were these ordered for a specific company and are 2nds off of that company,,,need to know,,,thanks

Aesthetic blemishes. No biggie. My accubonds have red tips.

They were going to be Ballistic Silvertips, but we made to many of them so they are Ballistic Tips with silver tips. Same thing, different color.

good evening guys,,,(in est) so you are saying these are 1st's rather than 2nd's only because nosler ran too many for winchester combined tech,,,talked to a tech at nosler not 1/2 hour ago,,,said the same thing except win puts some kind of a coating on their bullets,,,not moly but something else,,,and i also think that if the picture shows a yellow tip,,,thats what should be delivered,,,however,,,i also ordered 200 60 grain 223's bt's,,,orange and w/cantelure,,,can't wait to try them out,,,,but my main concern is what i have to tell my friend who is expecting yellow tips,,,first time ordering for him,,,and i know the quality behind a NOSLER product,,,THE BEST,,,YOU ROCK,,,accurate,,,dependable,,,reliable,,,thank you,,,j3081

I have bought many factory seconds over the years and its just about all I shoot for hunting, target shooting and even load development.

The 270 cal bullets have a gray tip for Winchester. Since they are an overrun, Nosler can't sell them as first because of the gray polycarbonate tip. If they were yellow, than nosler could sell them as first.
Bottom line, you have Nosler seconds because the tip isn't yellow.
Not a bad deal, the targets and critters will never know the difference. :wink:

Winchester adds their Lubalox coating to the Nosler BT and with the gray (silver) polycarbon tip, creats the "Ballistic Silver Tip" bullet.

hey guys,,,i am VERY satisfied with nosler and in my earlier posts critisized nosler for affordable shipping(read them),,,however nosler is the best bullet for any gun made,,,weather for the 223 rem,,,or the 300 win mag,,,nosler will always be there with their drop dead power,accuracy,reliability and service that we all appreciate,,,all you moderaters,,,FINE JOB,,,and all the people that want to learn this hobby,,,you've come to the right place,,,suck it up,,, :grin: :grin: :grin:
