I chase velocity in about everything . in shooting far I feel consistency is more important than velocity .you want a low extreme spread . a consistent load that's a little slower is a lot easier to work with than a load that has high velocity, and a big extreme spread . I'm not saying to go out with a load that is slow . this slower load is easily compensated for with a click or two more in elevation . your ballistic program will be able to predict the needed dope with either velocity . your hit percentage should be better with the low extreme spread load . I suggest trying one of the powders that should give higher velocity and work with it to see how it shoots , and the extreme spread it gives . maybe you can get both higher velocity , low ES .
a few of the guys I shoot with are shooting the 300gr A-tips , but have not shot anything with them . I'm not sure how they'll do on game .
I used default settings for everything . I assumed a 30"bbl . I went down the powder list to include H1000 . it looks to me like RL50 , N570 , RL33 are at the top for velocity . case fill is a little high , but definitely workable .
