Don't have dies or brass for it yet, but wondering if somebody could run something for me for future reference.

Got plenty of throat on the few bullets I checked and being a M93 I got plenty of magazine length, so I can just seat bullets to the base of the neck and not worry about Saami max length of 2.600

Like to see what the numbers come up to using H4895.

First bullet is Nosler 125 gr ballistic tip. Loaded length will be 2.620. Nosler site says the Winchester case holds 47.2 grains of water.

Next bullet is Nosler 150 gr Partition. Loaded length will be 2.755. I'll admit to not understanding this, but Nosler says that same case now holds 44.4 grains of water using 150 gr bullet.

Thanks Dr Mike. Some pretty good numbers for the old cartridge on the 150 Partition loaded out at that length.

Any chance you could input those numbers using H4895? Or isn't that powder in the database?

Thank you Dr. Mike! Just what I was looking for. I was looking to get good case fill with the 125 gr but keep the speeds down reasonable for that light bullet. Between 43 to 44 gr's looks promising to accomplish that, while staying well under pressure limits.

I got H4895 and am liking it very well in the few applications I tried it with so far. Where it works it is really accurate and consistent.

Are you using a Mauser 93 action? If you are just a reminder in case you do not know you need to keep your pressure under 46000 CUP for that small ring action.
The 125 Nosler BT is an awesome deer bullet when you keep impact velocity under 3000 fps.
H4895 and IMR 4895 are good powders for the 300 Savage size cases. I have a wildcat caliber that is made using 300 Savage cases. You push the shoulder back 10 thousands but leave the case the full over all length. It is called a 30x47. I use 42 grs IMR 4895 which is a case full to the bottom of the neck with both 125 and 150 gr bullets. This rifle is a one hole shooter with almost anything you put in it. It was made for a hunter class bench rest rifle. I get 2800 fps with 125 and 2600 fps with 150s.

I have a set of RCBS dies if you’re interested.

Yes sir, it's a 93 and I'm not planning on hot rodding that rifle. Saami specs on the PSI side, show 47,000 PSI for the 300 Savage, that's why I said according to the QL Dr. Mike posted that between 43-44 grains of H4895 for the 125 looks promising to get good case fill while staying under the pressure limits. I was looking to keep that bullet down around 2800 as your post confirms, and that should work out real close with that combo of powder according to the QL .

I got it tore down and am in the process of cleaning some carbon and copper out of the bore....mostly copper. Kinda excited to test the old girl out this spring. (y)

How many beaver pelts, salted meats, or U.S. dollars, are you bargaining for said dies? :)
