RA magazine fix

The magazines for the Ruger American are notorious for not feeding rounds properly. When I rebored mine to a 338 Fed I ran into this.

Found this fix on You Tube, tried it, and Presto ! It worked. Just be careful putting the back on. There is a small hole that must be lined up with the feeder.

Quicker than trying to make an exchange for another magazine.

The magazine that came with my rifle has fed perfect from the start. After seeing all the issues people are having I've been scared to order another one. Thanks for posting.

Cle48, the one that came with my 308 worked just fine also. When I was talking to JES about the rebore, he warned me about the possible feed problem. I was thinking along some other lines of correcting the problem, and wasn't real keen on dropping $40 on a spare magazine that may, or may not, work. Now that I found this 'fix' and it worked so profoundly, I just ordered two. It took me longer to find a small finishing nail and a pair of needle nose pliers than it did to do the work.
