Hey Guys,

I am going to start trying to reload my .223 for my AR. I have Varget available and will be using the Nosler Varmegeddon 55 gr (non-tip) bullets. Can anyone provide the safe reloading ranges for this combination and suggest a load that has worked for them? thanks

I like Varget in the 223. I setup my powder measure at 25gr and go. 55gr, 64gr, 70gr. All like it.

I run 26.0 gr in my .223 rifles with the Hornady 55 gr SP, Z-Max or Nosler Ballistic Tip or Varmageddon Tipped bullets. While Nosler data shows a maximum of 25.0 gr of Varget, other loading manuals show up to 27.8 gr with a 55 gr bullet. I have tried up to 27.0 gr with no pressure signs in my rifles, but always start lower and work up gradually. I seemed to get better accuracy at 26.0 gr than heavier loads.

Thanks for all the pet load data. Finally located some small rifle primers so ill begin the work up

I had better luck with Varget and heavier bullets... but haven't explored a whole lot with the lighter ones.
