My daughters both have been exposed to reloading since birth & my wife since she met me. And all have helped do the myriad of tasks that go along case prep and etc..

Several weeks ago, a friend came over, who has never reloaded to get his introduction and to learn the process. This is a guy I occasionally go hunting with and is an "outdoorsman".

Last night at supper, kids asked why KJ came over to reload. I said he doesnt know how and wants to learn. Could have a heard a pin drop and all three women are looking at me in disbelief. My 15 yr old says, "What kinda man does'nt reload?"

Man, I still get tears thinking about that. And I pity the poor guy(s) my girls get married too, sure hope he reloads...

Both my girls have helped me load over the years. Their job eas to seat bullets and they have 1K+ each doing that.

Maybe we ought to introduce your girls to my son? He's seven, so your oldest isn't really a good candidate, but I'm always on the lookout for the what I can tell him to look for in a wife! You've got some good kids there, Rod.

My 12 year old son and my 6 year old daughter both love it!

Please allow me to brag just a little bit.... My daughter married a farm boy from north of town. They met spending summers together, his grandfather owned the cottage next door to mine. She also grew up coming with me to the gun club and at age 13 she and a girlfriend took a skeet shooting class sponsored by the local club. She's rarely seen a store-bought round of ammo. Well now she's married and all grown up and has decorated her house with stuff from Cabelas. She and her hubby love the stuff. I keep telling him he owes me big for raising a girl like her. But alas I save the best yet for last, she is a doctor. She works long hard hours, studies, let's him hunt all he wants (no kids yet), and insists that he call her after he kills a deer... she wants to gut it out, she loves to see the anatomy lesson in person.

He feels like he got a good deal on a wife. For a wedding gift I bought him a new 7 Mag Remington 700, put a custom stock on it, and Zeiss glass. I needed him to not give her any financial grief about buying a new gun while she was still in med school. He still thinks it was the best wedding gift he received. His friends remain jealous.

rquack, I don't suppose you have a second college age daughter to whom I can introduce my son? He's planning to major in Wildlife Biology, and with a little luck we'll see him in ROTC. The little show off killed his last antelope with a 435yd headshot.

Sorry gang, no more daughters. One 21 yr old son, who is soon to be spoken for by a moderately liberal young lawyer wanna-be attending University of Michigan. I think I've got my work cut out with her; took her shooting a couple of times, she's not in a real hurry to do that again. Oh, well.... But I can't hardly get the thought of giving her a 7mag for a wedding present out of my mind, she might not use it much but I know he would get a bit of use from it...... But the thought of her opening the box just gives me goosebumps all over.

My oldest daughter who can outshoot a lot of men with her 38Spec. Got married last year, gave my new son-in-law a custom 300 WSM with Leupold glass. Loads were prepared for him and we now hunt together. Since my daughter use to spend many hours with me in the loading shop, at the range and on a number of hunts she considers hunting/fishing a normal part of life. Only complaint from her is their freezer is too small and their current deer processor doesn't make good cube steak.Rick.
