Reloder 23 280 Rem

Used this day off to finally get to try Reloder 23 in the 280 Rem with 150 gr Scirocco II's..Across the magnetospeed I found a good flat spot between 57.3 and 57.7..I used 57.5. This is a slightly compressed load..Lots of promise here! I used the same BTO of 2.650" that I settled on with 22..Accuracy is near the same as a max load of 58.0 of RL-22 but besting it by about 50 fps..No pressure signs, and I think I could push 23 a little more, but I think I'll leave it there and work on seating depth. Right now they are .080 back.

Indeed, lots of promise. That would be an excellent load. I do concur that seating a little farther from the lands may just give you the accuracy that you want.

I hope so, but It has some mighty big shoes to fill to replace 57.5 of RL-22 and the 154 Interbond. I'll eventually get around to trying 23 with the IB

I settled on 139/140 grain pills in my M70 .280. Accuracy is ~0.25--.35 inches and excellent velocities. In my M700 .280, I'm shooting 150 grain ABLR, again with excellent velocities and accuracy in a similar range to that witnessed in my M70. The .280 is still a great cartridge for NA.

Very nice. I’m going to have to give that a shot. Hard to beat those Sciroccos in my book.

I found my 7mm RM liked the Scirocco .100" from the lands. Tightened up under .5 moa with H4831. I'm a fan of RL23, going to work up the new Trophy Bonded Tip with it. Very low ES in my testing.

Very good info. I’ve got a ton of the stuff. I need to give it a whirl and see how it works. Haven’t used the first bit of it yet.

yes, very low..Only 5 shots with the same charge yesterday, but the ES was 4.3
