Hello,

I can not find any RL22 that I usually load, but found some RL25.

Question: Has anyone used RL25 and the 150 Grain LR AccuBond for a load development, or is RL25 too slow for the 280AI?

I always had great success with RL22.

Thanks,

I'm thinking that unless you have a long throat to seat the bullet way out there, you wont have enough case capacity to get the speeds up where you would like to have them.

Yep...

25 is too slow for the Ackley, unless you have a rifle that can feed long loaded 195 grain bullets.

Yeah, I have the same concerns.

Well thanks for your comments, I will continue the hunt for RL22. If nothing else, I have some RL19 that I can load as a backup.

I know that RL22 works for sure.

Thanks again!

RL19 should work, I think it's close to IMR 4350 in terms of burn rate (which is listed, just glancing up at MAinAR's Nosler loads).

I bought an 8# keg of RL 26 for my 280 Ackley. I don't want to deal with supply chain disruptions. If RL22 is working for you, stock up! The next preseditnial elections are coming up and there will likely soon be some panic buying.

MRP would be another good one to look at. ;)

Don't have a 280AI but have loaded a lot of RL25 in the 7 Rem Mag,and also the 270 Winchester. This was the max load listed for the 130 Barnes XLC and the Barnes manual max load. From a 22" barrel of a M70 Classic FW,the chronograph said right at 3200 fps.

A bit of interpolation should tell us that if RL25 works in the 7 Rem Mag,and in the 270 Winchester, it should work fine in the 280 AI,which is sort of in the middle of the other two.
