Took this Roe Buck with my Steyer Manlicher 30-06 ,unfortunately i had to "Pin it " as it was only a few feet from heavy woodland, hence some heavy front end damage.

Cool! I'm not familiar w/roe buck. Is that one about average size?

Gotta love the .30-06, it's good for beasties large and small! Nice looking rifle.

Regards, Guy

Yes it is about average size,at the moment we can only shoot the Bucks at this time of year,Roe deer mainly come out either first Light or Sunset and you get a ratio of 1 Buck to 5 -6 Does. The rifle is made in Austria and has a Single set Trigger, synthetic stock and i have a schmidt and bender 6x42 sat on top :p .The other species of Deer we get in the U K are Sika,Fallow,Red,Muntjac,Chinese water deer and probably others i cannot remember

Congratulations on your buck. What bullet did you use in your 30-06?

Had them all over Sembach Air Base when I was stationed in Germany. About a little bigger than a German Sheppard. The Forest Meister (game warden) who was a USAF Technical Sgt used to thin out the herd with an Anshutz triple duece (222).
Another guy used a Styer Mannlicher in 6.5x68 Schuler (Euro 264 mag more or less) with a 120 FMJ for no meat damage.

I used 180grain bullets ,also just out of intreast the gun is fitted with a T8 silencer which you can't see in picture, from what i understand you can't use silencers in the states is this right?
