ruger hawkeye african stock question?

Im in the dark, they don't show or send pics which sucks but its exhibition and i'm told that gives it full figure in 100 percent of the stock and most will have burl or feather crotch pattern in butt end

heres some pics of there exhibition claro directly from their web site.

Nice looking stock it will be interesting to see how it all works out for you.

My stainless laminate 375 Ruger is showing the same problem, the stock has shifted under recoil and is showing the begining of a crack in the tang. I'm going to relieve the wood so there is some clearance again, but at some point a Mcmillan Hunter style stock will have to be ordered, maybe the chance to get a Mcswirly :) we will see how long it lasts as is.

ITH,

That is a very handsome piece of wood. I would enjoy it, without doubt.

You know you want to...

I hope the wood stock lasts a bit longer, I have too many other irons in the fire right now. Would like a McSwirly one day though don't mind a bit of extra weight on a 375 Ruger :)

One of the cool things about a McMillan is they can make it as heavy as you like. Just tell them the total weight you would like and they can fill it to get that weight. They can't make them lighter without going to the Edge style stocks.

I thought the McSwirly was heavier than their standard fill stock. It will probably end up not much different than the weight of the laminate stock likely, they are pretty heavy.

The McSwirly is a few oz heavier than the same stock painted, yes. But they can put additional weight in the stock to make it heavier if you would like, painted or McSwirly.

Interesting, I wouldn't want to add any extra weight. Some of the guys on Huntingbc have gotten McSwirly's put on their Alaskan 375 Ruger guns and they look really sharp.
