Ruger Mini 30 7.62 x 39

Hey Guys,
What can you tell me about the Ruger Mini 30? I just picked one up with 700 rounds and extra mags. Total cost: $100.00 :grin: Person wanted the gun "out of the house." Seems to be more and more of those opportunities popping up. Remeber I'm from MA Anyway, I just registered the gun and I'm looking forward to shooting it. The gun (box) looks a few years old but the gun was never fired and is mint. So, what's the deal with the 7.62x39? What can I hunt with this? Any reloading recommendations? Mike

Sounds like you gat a deal!
I think some hunt deer with that caliber, soft point bullets of course.
I would think it would make a great coyote rifle.

Yup, figure about the same horsepower as a .30-30. The mini-30 usually has pretty good accuracy out-of-the-box, unlike its brother the mini-14.
