ruger mk77 300 mag

so i went and shot some rounds out of my 300 the other day making sure it was sighted in where i want it, and to remember where it hits with core-lokts before i start trying my AB handloads.

this is my best group of 3 shot off of a caldwell H style sand bag
all 3 rounds shot within a minute and a half or so, no cooldown
the third shot is the one low and right, barrel was fairly warm

rifle is a MK77 Stainless/synthetic in 300 WM
only work to it is trigger job down to 2.5 pounds

i was fairly proud, other two were just over an inch or so, but mkost of that was mei can almost always call exactly where the shot wil be.

Looks like you are ready for hunting season!
I like my Ruger M77's. All that I have had to do to my 257"bob" and 338WM is a trigger job, and they shoot nice.

im getting a friends Lead Sled tomorrow so i can go shoot the AB's i have loaded, so hopefully i get lots of groups like that one

i wonder if i let the barrel cool down in that group if that third one would have been even closer, probably not but, i actually called that one beeing a little bit right before i looked :lol:


my best group to date with my stevens 223 i recently bought is like 2" :shock:

then again i only have ~50 rounds through it
