S&W 629 Photo Session

Had a little fun this morning. Took a break from handloading and focused (ha!) on photographing my 629 revolver, some freshly handloaded ammo and of course the Sourdough Pancake holster. With these loads, a 240 gr Berry's "target hollow point" at about 1067 fps the S&W is fun to shoot and doesn't beat me up too much. I sure like this 5" S&W!













Those same loads with 9.0 grains of Titegroup also shoot very well from the 7.5" Ruger Hunter, and pick up a little velocity as well.

I just recently acquired a 44 mag revolver and this morning I was going thru your UR videos. Good stuff Guy

That is a sweet rig Guy. I remembered a buddy who had the exact model, but with a short barrel smaller than yours. I shot those full power 240 grainers, and the recoil was snappy but it was very accurate. It was easy plinking cans at 25 yards. Looking at it makes me want to buy one.

Thanks! Gavin is a fan of the 44 as well, but he's so busy doing his precision rifle builds he doesn't play with the revolvers much. That leaves the subject open for me!
