S&W to Purchase Savage

Hello,
I just got word today it was official, S&W has bought out Savage. I've never been a big fan of Savage, but I'm fairly certain smith will only make that worse. May be a good time to go get a 110 pro with the Proof barrel on it.

I thought I would share the word in the event any of you are considering a new Savage.

I didn’t realize Savage was up for sale. They have been around for many years and had a darn good reputation for making a solid rifle.
I don’t see it as a bad thing myself. I have 3 S&W’s and they have always treated me good and shot well.

The deal was finalized on the 21st. It gave s&w a strong foothold in the hunting rifle market among other things. Mostly financial I am sure-somehow it’s always about the money. I don’t have a problem with the deal-

Man, I've owned a bunch of Savages over the years. Can't recall a dud in but one, which they fixed. Guess we will see, but I don't see a reason to fret over the deal.
